Choose to be Cream

Super Hero

Choose to be Cream
by: Marie Thompson

Most of us, at some point in life, have pondered the super hero characteristic we most want. When I was younger, I thought that I would like to have mind control. It seemed that life would be much simpler if I could just make people think as I do and do as I think. I have now reached the stage of life, as I’m told by my 20-something year old progeny, that I drive like a Grandma. Of course, I am driving the auto that I may drive until I don’t anymore. I don’t want to wreck. I don’t want to hurt. I don’t want to be late. I also enjoy the quiet reflection that is sometimes possible on the commute. Don’t get me wrong, the foot that isn’t on the gas is also not in the grave, but I am getting older. Age has some perks that I love. I don’t believe that I’d like to control minds anymore. Now, I think that I would prefer to become Cream and inspire devotees who are like minded.

As you read along, if you find you are one of those believers, please practice our Mantra a few times. I am Cream. I choose to rise to the top.

I am Cream. No matter how many times you shake or stir me, I will separate myself from whatever it is dissimilar. I can remember watching Sesame Street with my younger sisters. Ernie would sing “One of these things isn't like the others, One of these things just doesn't belong” and I thought that the unlike one needed to go. Not so, in the world of cream! I choose not to be like everyone else when what they are electing is not best for our practice. Cream would never surf the net, play on their phone, hide in the bathroom, or visit with other team members, when they haven’t made production or collection goals. Cream knows that the first hour of the day is the time you get the most done. Cream does not say “I don’t have time for ___________”. Cream understands that the practice relies on them every single minute of every single day they are paid. Cream knows that the slight edge principal works. Cream doesn’t care if you aren’t agreeable while I’m working hard, because you haven’t become Cream yet. One day, you will. If not, you will no longer be on the menu.

I am Cream. I mix well with sugar, harvested fruit, coldness and a heat. I am Cream. I can be heavy. I can be light. I can be hard. I can be soft. I make the most out of whatever situation I am in. Cream will take sweetness and treat everyone the same. Cream can take whatever fruit you produce, collect it, and help you produce more and better. Cream may not prefer coldness but can take that and make whipped cream or ice cream. The better the Cream the more heat it can take. Rather than curdling, it makes a lovely sauce for everything and everyone else to rest in. I decide to change based on what you are giving me to work with. I don’t overreact. If I don’t know what you are giving me, I ask and attempt to understand. I need to know what selection in my repertoire to pick. I do not change because I’m wishy washy. I change because I am strong. I am Cream. I make everything better. I dilute or positively transform everything I touch.

I am Cream. You may think that I am not on your meal plan. Regardless, I am satisfying and you will be glad you allowed me into your life. The most amazing thing about being Cream? Rarely are we born Cream. We opt it. We study it. We work for it. We practice it. I encourage you to say it with me daily. I am Cream. I choose to rise to the top.
